Last August, the manor of Hannibal in Kobrin burned down
The fire occurred on August 23.
The last time I was there in the summer of 2015 and found the ruins and the abomination of desolation. Given the approaching cottage building, the future fire with the subsequent sale of the land of the estate and the park seemed almost inevitable.
And he happened.
I post here my record of 2015 with photos taken at the same time:
Tears of farewell to the Kobrin manor.
My childhood was spent not far from Kobrin, every summer I visited there, saw a manor house, cycled along the paths of the park and the surrounding fields ...
What kind of place it is and how nice it is, is well described in these notes:
"Among the former estates, a special place belongs to the old Kobrin manor. This is one of the most iconic tourist sites in our region. However, the fate of the old complex is sad and tragic. So far, no measures have been taken to save the unique monument, which in recent years has finally turned into ruins.
The estate "Kobrino", such is its historical name, in a number of documents it is called the estate "Runovo", named after the village of Runovo located one kilometer from it, is a monument of federal significance. The history of the estate since 1759 is associated with the name of the legendary great-grandfather AS Pushkin on the maternal line of Abram Petrovich Hannibal and his closest descendants. Here, the future mother of A.S. Pushkina - Nadezhda Osipovna, nee Hannibal. It is here, for the upbringing of the firstborn of the family N.O. and S.L. Pushkin was taken as a nanny by a local peasant woman, Arina Rodionovna. Here a great poet himself could be born. This little Alexander Pushkin was brought here by his parents in 1800, in the year of the sale of the Hannibal manor.
The subsequent owners of the estate were the famous navigator Yury F. Lisyansky, the sister of the writer S.T. Aksakova - Nadezhda Timofeevna Kartashevskaya (her name today is the railway platform on the Warsaw railway) and others. When Kartashevsky in Kobrin estate were N.V. Gogol, T.G. Shevchenko, I.S. Turgenev, I.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, A.G. Rubinstein, a talented singer L.I.Karmalina and others. At the beginning of the twentieth century, Zinaida Gippius and Dmitry Merezhkovsky rented a cottage in the estate “Kobrino”. The estate also survived during the Great Patriotic War, although very close in January 1944 large-scale military operations took place to liberate Kobrin land from the Nazi invaders. The manor house located here in different years was guarded by a secondary school, an industrial training complex created for war invalids, a tuberculosis hospital ... "
"... The last owners of the estate in Kobrino were Markovich, Andrei Nikolaevich Markovich, a lawyer by training, became a senator. He was the founder and member of the Russian Imperial Musical Society established in St. Petersburg. From 1881 and for 9 years he was an assistant Chairman of this society. His efforts established the "charter of music schools" and under his supervision carried out the activities of conservatories. In the last years of his life he became a companion to the chairman of the Imperial philanthropic society. His The famous musicians of St. Petersburg visited the mansion in Kobrino. Anton Rubinstein was a close friend of the owner of the estate.Brilliant musical evenings with the participation of wonderful composers and musicians, including AG Rubinstein, N.А. Rimsky-Korsakov, A.K. Glazunov, A.K. Lyadov. Markoviches were engaged in trout farming ... "
This is how I remembered from childhood the house of Hannibal in Kobrino:
So he was in the two thousandth, after the fire of 1989, who carried off the turret with a clock, already abandoned and abandoned ...
And so I saw him on July 25, 2015, when I decided unsuccessfully to search for a bygone childhood.
The birch alley, once marching across the field, was overgrown and almost merged with the overgrown fields.
Go around the "central flower garden" in the front yard on the way to the house.
The facade is completely overgrown and barely guessed through the greens.
Tightly overgrown floodplain dammed river Kobrynka.
From the window of the second floor. There is practically no roof on the wing.
Inside - the devastation and the abomination of desolation.
Like the Titanic, the house is drowning in the tumult of wild all-conquering greenery, indifference and oblivion.
Spill the river in front of the first dam, behind it - an overgrown park. Thirty years ago it was clean here and people were swimming.
And this is the second pond of the cascade, in front of the lower dam.
