Goderdzi - wheelchair 5 +.
Until my photos have finally moved to the Yandex disk and it’s still quite convenient to publish them in batches, I’ll try to tell you a little more about Goderdzi. If you don’t know anything about it - don’t worry, I didn’t know anything about this resort even 4 years ago, and when I was here in the autumn of 2013, then there wasn’t a resort either. In the previous post, I talked a little about general impressions, but it was a month ago, so I can repeat it. Let's go under the cat, check whether there is enough snow, and the height difference at least for some skiing from the mountains?
On the very first morning without thinking twice our wonderful guide drew us a route straight down! No wonder we were rolling in Gudauri!
The thing is that we did not live at the bottom of the lift, but on the pass, and in order to get to the tracks and lifts, we had to move down. Naturally off the track. Although it may be possible to minimize the out-of-piste section, we did not come here for that!
And we came to get the maximum freeride using cable cars, snowcat and skitour. From the first day, everything went straight. Above the snow is a little blown, but only a little. Riding in a new place is very nice.
Those who stand higher or how can not wait for their turn. :)
So we drove straight down to the top of the lifts. They are here only 2 turns about 350 meters each. We start from 1700, we arrive at 2390. By and large, like a fairy tale with a boar on Rosa Khutor, but because of the position here, the distance is greater!
And due to the lack of crowds of skiers, even a few days after the snowfall, there is a mass of unrolled places.
Goderdzi has potential, but he is still dormant. They have new cable cars in the plans, but not higher, but aside, there is basically no place to build above ...
From the upper cable car station you can go down to our hotel. There he is in the photo - the largest of the houses.
I can not tell you anything about the hotels below, because I was not there practically. Everything happened a little higher and there was no time to find out properly. Hope they are here. It's a pity if so much snow will just melt, and no one can really use it.
The area for skiing directly from the ski lift or passing from it 200-500 meters across the resort is very extensive. We rode literally a couple of times near the same place, and all because of laziness and the desire to roll out good snow. :)
How can you stay in such a place and not bang first?
Well, or at least the second, for the guide ...
During their stay in Georgia, the whole group diligently learned to ride compactly in order to gently roll out the slope. Not to traverse, not to ride across the width, in general, we tried very hard and often we did quite well.
Typical Goderdzi: there are 10 people on the tracks, no one is off the tracks! :)
We right started to feel like a VIP, as if the whole resort was for us!
And do not forget to use it.
And how not to use it if the skipass is cheaper here than in Gudauri and Borjomi and costs only 25 lari? Even if you need to make just a few lifts, it makes sense to buy it. One day, we wanted to save money and not buy a ski pass, spent 5 GEL for one-time only 5 GEL less per line, but we had to limit ourselves.
I would tell you about skiing on the tracks, but I can’t really. According to them, I just drove to the cable car.
The rest of the time all the time "in the fields"! Neither where before I skated so. Yes, in the Glade and especially on Elbrus there are such open spaces, but in the Glade there is enough for an hour, and on Elbrus it is easy to fly into some kind of crack on a closed glacier.
There are no cracks in Goderzdi! There are ravines, naduv, but there are no cracks because there is no glacier. :)
Naduvy is very cool!
But gentle slopes should be avoided. Although, it is for them that you can accelerate a bit even on a snowboard in order to be able to ...
How to fly!
During the day you are so angry that it is important not to forget that the cable car works until 16-00, and we need to jump to the very top, only from there you can slide to the pass where our hotel stands. You can, of course, call a snowcat, but why introduce yourself to unnecessary spending.
The sunsets to the hotel are free.
As well as the hermitage routes, which are also absolutely free and terribly nice. About them in the next issue.
If you are any kind of more specific information on this place, you can ask me in the comments.
